Chelsea Irwin

Serving the Lord in the Czech Republic

Chelsea Irwin serves the Lord through The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) in the Czech Republic, based in Bohumín. In this role, Chelsea works with the Silesian Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession (SECAC) and EC M.I.S.E. In the Czech language, EC M.I.S.E. stands for Evangelizační Centrum Mobilizace, Integrace osobnosti, Společenství, Evangelizace. Translated into English, EC M.I.S.E. stands for Evangelization Center Mobilization, Integration, Fellowship, Evangelizing. EC M.I.S.E. serves as the mission branch of the Silesian Church.

Chelsea assists the church in Bohumín as they seek to revitalize the congregation. She teaches conversational English to elementary school students as a way to share the Gospel and connect with the community. She also is helping start a Kids Club and assists with running the Sunday school program. During the summer months, Chelsea helps facilitate short-term mission teams who serve at English Bible camps in Poland and the Czech Republic.

Chelsea’s home congregation is Holy Savior Lutheran Church, Lincoln, Neb. She earned a bachelor’s degree in early childhood, with a minor in English as a Second Language (ESL), from Concordia University, Nebraska, Seward. She worked at Touching Hearts Early Childhood Center at Faith Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Neb., for the past six years. Also, for the past 10 years, she has served as a counselor at Jawornik English Camp in Jawornik, Poland, where she taught English, Bible studies and music to middle school students. Chelsea’s hobbies include spending time with her friends, hammocking, traveling, making music and trying new foods.

Pray for Chelsea as she serves in the Czech Republic. Ask God to open the ears of the people in Bohumín so they may hear the Gospel. Ask God to give Chelsea wisdom as she continues this new journey to share the Good News with those she encounters in the Czech Republic. Pray that God removes the spiritual evil and shamanism from the Czech communities. Pray that the mission and vision of EC M.I.S.E. continues to reach the Christians and non-Christians in this country. Ask God to create opportunities for Chelsea to share the Gospel with her students and their families, and with those who attend Sunday school and the Kids Club. Let us give thanks to God that Chelsea is serving His people in this part of the world.

A contribution designated (restricted) for a specific purpose when accepted, will be used only to fund expenses related to that purpose.
